Role: Assistant Financial Controller

Location: Carlow

Salary: €55,000 - €60,000 DOE

We are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Controller for our client - a road mobility technology company, with over 168,000 entrepreneurial minded employees and more than 60 years of experience.

Assistant Financial Controller Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the financial controller in the management of the finance team.

  • Assist in the review of monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts and relative variance analysis to group office under tight deadlines.

  • Assist in the review, consolidation, upload and presentation of quarterly forecasts and annual business plans to group office.

  • Understanding of capital expenditure system.

  • Understanding of R&D Tax Credits and IDA Grants.

  • Monitoring and preparation of KPI's and MAFACT requirements and relevant reporting.

  • Understanding and review of foreign currency hedging processes for both AR and AP.

  • Control and review of the weekly payroll process.

  • Overview of all tax requirements.

  • Coordination of annual audit and assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements.

  • Monitor compliance with local and group internal controls & polices and develop relevant procedures.

  • Ad hoc day to day reporting and analysis as require at both local and group levels.

  • Flexibility of duties and working hours will be required during busy periods.

  • Small amount of overnight/overseas travel may be required to off-site facilities or customers and for training.

Assistant Financial Controller Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

  • Experience in month end reporting and budgeting/forecasting.

  • Experience in high volumes of foreign currency transaction accounting.

  • Must be eligible and willing to work the hours of a permanent day shift.

  • Ability to demonstrate good work practices including attendance, timekeeping, tidiness, safety awareness, quality awareness, responsibility and a willingness to learn.

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft package, in particular, Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative when required.

    English language fluency, both written and spoken.
