Fixed Term Contract - 6 Months

Location: Commutable within /up to an hour of Lincoln.

Introduction: This is an exciting opportunity for an assistant planner to work within Kier Utilities on the Anglian Water Integrated Operational Solutions alliance. This alliance delivers a variety of work types within the Water and Water Recycling business units with one of the leading water utility companies in the UK.
Reporting to and supported by our Senior Planner, You will work with different stakeholders to deliver efficient and effective development and maintenance of the P6 project plans associated with the designated scope of work.
The role will also include the need to develop resource management within P6 as well as providing key performance data for the management information system. Quality assurances of the outputs are integral to this role and key to programme performance.
You will be primarily focused on developing logic linked project plans and providing work planning reports, look-ahead, updating site progress with Project Engineers, Construction Managers and Programme Delivery Managers. You will ensure that all project plans adhere to the relevant standards on safety, updates, quality, value and other measurable. You will be responsible for administrating the programme implementation plan; ensuring that the delivery date will be achieved. Inputting, extracting and forecasting real time activities; report results to management as required.
Skills and experience required:
- An Understanding of critical path planning and management of float
- A Basic Knowledge of Programme Creation and Principles.
- Experience of Industry Standard Planning Software Desirable However Training can / will be given.
- An ability to understand and demonstrate water industry specific knowledge / production knowledge to the appropriate level
- Demonstrated experience operating in a Contracting Environment and an Understanding of the importance of Project Planning and Associated Tasks to the successful delivery of multiple projects.
- An Understanding of project resource histograms, and performance analysis data, and Earned Value Analysis.
- An Understanding of NEC Contract Principles.
- Organised and Proactive Attitude.
- A Willingness to Learn
- Strong Analytical and numeracy skills
