An Assistant Project Manager is required for a major national multi-disciplinary consultancy, where you have the unique opportunity to be continuously exposed to best in class thinking and innovative minds from a wide range of professionals.
You will need to be a are self-driven and motivated and related person, with a strong desire to progress and able to behave with integrity and be able to solve problems. As Assistant Project Manager, you will be provided with the training, mentoring and support needed to be become Chartered. You will be working with an experienced team of professionals and get exposure on interesting and complex projects. The team has a very positive and inclusive culture and is friendly and sociable.
Main Duties
- This role is based full-time in the London HQ based in the heart of the City, and you will be working with a variation of projects across Commercial, Residential or mixed use, offices and industrial property.
- Capture and monitor project risks and key performance indicators.
- Assist the project management team in preparing reports and to manage projected fee billing.
- Ensure project work meets all relevant technical and professional standards on a consistent basis.
- Give input and guidance into the technical nature of the work and the appropriate approach to be taken to deliver the technical output.
- Ensure that the scope of services is met, including regular site visits, chairing project meetings, producing detailed minutes etc.
- Preparation of building contract for scheme e.g. JCT, remedial/development agreements and the administration of such agreements/contracts.
- Ensuring that all work is in full compliance with relevant statutory requirements and regulations, as well as the relevant records and systems requirements of the company and of those surveying institutions with which they are associated.
Assistant Project Manager Skills & Experience
- Ideally working towards Chartership from a relevant institution APM, RICS, CIOB or ICE
- Will need 12 months plus experience in a similar role within the private sector.
- Experience in managing multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues, build, and maintain relationships.
- Be prepared to travel to sites across the UK
- Has an appreciation for key legislation which governs construction work in the UK and statutory requirements which may impact on project delivery.
- Able to read and understand different forms of construction contract.
- Intermediate IT literacy with the ability to confidently use MS Office software packages including MS Project and other products, e.g. NBS Specification and JCT Online, and has the capacity to learn new IT programmes.
