Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME) has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join its highly successful commercial team. To be able to specialise in the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEPH) sector gives the individual a unique skill set, with technical and commercial understanding in an industry where reliance on services is paramount and brings buildings to life with Smart technologies. KME are an internal MEP self-delivery business within the Kier group, supporting the internal regional businesses across the UK and the Strategic Projects business on complex and challenging projects that range from £5m to £80m. The business has a full design, construct and commissioning capability. The business has been operating for over 50 years with a track record for delivering on developing staff, repeat business and successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of an integrated team focusing on the commercial and preconstruction functions of the KME business to deliver projects in accordance with the commercial standards, policies and ethics the business has, in a timely and accurate manner. You will work on monthly reporting, valuations, variations, subcontract documents, risk, opportunity and forecasting.
What do we need from you?
You will be qualified or working towards degree level or equivalent in quantity surveying with a willingness to learn and undertake self-development. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a commercially focused environment and understand the importance of risk management and forecasting.
