Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job in Sevenoaks
Assistant Quantity Surveyor required for a multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks, working on town centre high-rise, mixed use developments in London and the Southeast. Offering a salary of up to £45k + Bonus + Travel + Excellent progression opportunities. You will be joining a rapidly growing consultancy with a strong pipeline of projects.
The consultancy offers a multitude of services to include project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential and affordable housing projects for developers, Housing Associations and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London and the Southeast.
Role & Responsibilities
- Working with mainly Local Authority, Housing Associations, and developer clients
- Estimating from concept to final accounts
- Preparation of Cost / Benefit analysis of design options
- Cost plans from drawings using Cost X
- Track and validate costs
- Client liaison and attending design team meetings
- Main contractor valuation certificates
- Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors tender submissions
- Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliation's, reports and forecasts
- Cost exercises for clients
- Value Engineering
- Package Procurement and tendering
- Cost benchmarking
- Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- New Build residential development experience (50+ Homes)
- Affordable housing experience
- Experienced in working for a contractor / housebuilder
- Understanding of JCT Design and Build contracts
- RICS Accredited Degree
- Working towards RICS or MCIOB
- UK Driving Licence and own car
