Location: Agile working from home, with requirements to attend site in Norwich and Kings Lynn from time to time as well as Kier offices in Sheffield

Kier Places are recruiting now for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our passionate Capital Projects Team and assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor across multiple projects. These initial projects will be based in Kings Lynn and Norwich, and will include internal works on a residential tower block, and a salt depot with office space for Highways England of values ranging from £1 million to £4 million. Our Capital Projects team have a diverse portfolio of projects across the nation and we're looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, who's able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of a small team dedicated to the pre-construction and delivery process of Kier and client side designed projects. Supporting a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved with the commercial management of all aspects of these opportunities / projects and your key responsibilities will be to effectively manage costs, assist in project reporting, general commercial management of accounts, profitability, and managing risk in a safe, effective & ethical manner.

You will support a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the appointment of consultants and subcontractors, regular financial reporting, processing and administration of applications for payment upstream and downstream, and support managing relationships with the Client and the appointed professional team.

What do we need from you?

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with Kier, collaborative working with all external and internal stakeholders will be crucial. The succesful applicant waill need to demonstrate good general construction knowledge, and experience of delivering projects under NEC or SCAPE forms of contract will be required.
