We are currently seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager, based at our Borras Quarry near Wrexham, North Wales. The primary duty for this role will be to support the Quarry Manager in the overseeing of the Quarry operation. You will be a key member of the team, ensuring the daily operations are compliant with Breedon's safety, health and environmental standards and strive to continually improve the site operations.
Further duties will include:
Assisting the Quarry Manager 8(1)c in all operations in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999
Working with all members of the Management team to continually raise the Health, Safety and Environmental standards of the Company
Ensuring that all contractors who carry out work on the quarry site are inducted, monitored and supervised to ensure safe working practices are adhered to
Ensuring that all plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard
Ensuring that the site is maintained in a condition which creates ownership and responsibility
Ensuring that production systems and products comply with all current quality standards
Ensuring that company and regulatory inspections and reports are completed
Supporting compliance with ISO 9002 for product quality and conformity
Planning and implementation of production levels and maintaining required stock levels and sales forecasts
Effectively control costs within a defined budget
Assisting with the development of the team through training plans and weekly forums
The successful candidate will have experience in quarry operations and mobile crushing. You will also be experienced in supervisory management and risk assessments and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of geotechnical supervision (attained level 3 or 4). Whilst training will be given, you will ideally hold the IOSH Managing Safety qualification and be qualified to 8(1)d level. Level 6 QCF would be beneficial as would the ability to undertake audit processes.
