Assistant Quarry Manager Full time, permanent position Sorn, Mauchline

Breedon are currently seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager based at Sorn Quarry in the South West Region. The Assistant Quarry Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient management and operation of the Quarry, covering the aggregate, asphalt & ready-mix concrete production. You will supervise all day to day operations and have a "hands on" role to ensure the timeliest and cost-effective production of all materials produced on site.

A key responsibility is to ensure that health, safety and environmental requirements are effectively considered and observed to promote a culture of health and safety excellence whilst ensuring cost effective, efficient and quality in the production of the product.

You will ensure a focus on production i.e. targets and quality to achieve the agreed customer requirements and specification. You will be responsible for any statutory procedures and reporting, in line with the license to operate the quarry. You will be responsible for the monitoring of the condition of plant and its performance whilst ensuring the effective use of maintenance services to ensure its ongoing capability. You will therefore use and implement plant and preventative maintenance schedules.

You will have existing experience of operating plant and production. Working as part of a team, you will have a flexible proactive approach to establish high standards of work performance, optimum product quality and promote quality control, safety programmer and regulatory compliance.
