Breedon are currently seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager to join the team based at Middleton, County Durham.
The primary duty for this role will be to support our Quarry Manager in the overseeing of the safe and efficient management and operation of a busy quarry, covering the production of aggregates.
Further duties will include:
- Assisting the Quarry Manager 8(1)c in all operations in accordance with the Quarries Regulations 1999.
- Managing and supporting continuous improvement of site operations whilst ensuring compliance with all Statutory, Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and regulations.
- Managing and supporting compliance with ISO 9001 for product quality and conformity.
- Planning and implementation of production levels and maintaining required stock levels and sales forecasts.
- Control of costs to budgetary requirements
- Undertake administrative duties and record maintaining for Health, Safety and the Environment; Personnel; Sales; Procurement, Ordering of materials, Quality and Energy Management including use of Assure, Concur, Findocs, Checkproof.
- Ensure all routine defect reporting, pre-emptive checks, maintenance and housekeeping is carried out.
- Management of contractors to ensure they are operating safely, efficiently and abiding by Breedon policies, and site rules.
- Managing the development of self and others.
- Liaising with the sales team and customers to ensure the sites deliver the highest standards in customer service.
Whilst training will be given, you will ideally hold the IOSH Managing Safety qualification, be qualified to 8(1)d level. Level 6 QCF would be beneficial.
