6 month FTC position potenial to be extended

Kier Construction Western & Wales are looking to recruit an Assistant Site Manager to join the team in Devon & Cornwall. The main purpose of the role is to assist the SM in running the site and ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality by effectively organising and managing the site activities. This will involve taking responsibility for the onsite element of the works through strong management of all subcontractors and monitoring the performance of all associated personnel. You will also maintain project targets and ensure that all Kier's procedures and SHE Legislation and are always complied with.

The position is to fulfil a need on a healthcare project, so similar experience will be beneficial.

The successful candidate will carry out:
  • Kier's legal obligations with regards to Safety, Health and the Environment.
  • The project's execution plan to ensure programme and progress are maintained.
  • Quality management.
  • Profitability.
  • Risk management
  • Management of subcontractors
  • Requisition materials and control materials post delivery
  • Assisting the project lead in matters of CR, Considerate constructors, stakeholder engagement
    • Individual:
  • HNC/D in Construction or related/equivalent qualification-(Preferable but not essential)
  • Good powers of written and verbal expression
  • Strong Influencing skills
  • Able to effectively lead/coordinate the workforce
  • Proactive
  • Problem solver underpinned by sound construction knowledge and experience.
