Building Futures. Building Teams. Building Careers.

The Capital Projects Team have a pipeline of opportunities to deliver cladding replacement projects to residential buildings across London and the South East. This is an established team with a track record of delivering high quality projects with high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly involving the recladding of high-rise buildings, in which, by their nature, are safety critical works and involve significant fire and general safety risk, with typical project values between £2m and £9m, and of a construction nature.

Kier Places are currently looking to recruit Assistant Site Managers to support the Contracts Managers and take responsibility for the management of all site activities on the project. Your role will be key to ensuring projects are safely delivered on time, to the highest quality and to budget whilst achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

As our workload is increasing, we are looking to expand the team on the projects we have in Hammersmith & Fulham, Tower Hamlets, and Southwark. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work as part of a closely knit team that has the opportunity to develop and control its own destiny. We understand this approach is essential to ensure we consistently win work and secure repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

You will work as part of a high performing team onsite, which will include the Site Manager, Resident Liaison Officer, Banksmen and Labourers and our supply chain delivery partners; you will report to the Site Manager and link in with the wider team of Design Managers and Quantity Surveyors; and using your operational expertise, you'll ensure risks are identified and mitigated whilst co-ordinating subcontractors and suppliers in a planned and controlled manner.

What do we need from you?

The upcoming works have an average value of £4m per project and have a wide range of access solutions and cladding and façade systems - previous experience in these works along with high standards of record keeping is preferable, and previous experience in software such as Fieldview, Snagmaster and Microsoft Project would also be beneficial, although training will be provided.

If you have experience of a similar role within the construction and refurbishment sector, with good exposure to cladding and façade works then this could be the role for you. You should be qualified or certified in SMSTS, CSCS Black card, First Aid, and Asbestos Awareness, and you should also have a proven track record of working within high performing teams, excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.

As a bonus, you may have Temporary Works Co-ordinator training, Basic Scaffold Awareness and Fire Manager training. Kier have a robust training plan in place for staff and support will be provided for your development where necessary.

What will you receive?

You can expect a competitive salary and an outstanding package that includes a company car or allowance, a matched pension scheme up to 7.5%, 26 days' annual leave + bank holidays (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday), two employee Share Scheme options (Sharesave and Share Incentive Plan), together with additional valuable benefits such as:

This includes taking up your references, verifying your right to work in the UK, verifying your driving licence (if applicable) and a health assessment.
