Assistant Site Manager Job in Yeovil - South West
Our client is a top five housebuilder and has around 3000 members of staff around the UK. They have a five star rating and care massively about the wellbeing of their people, and value diversity and inclusion.
They are now looking for an Assistant Site Manager to join their site near Yeovil. Within this position you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site and working on the delivery of a 150 unit mixed tenure scheme. The successful candidate will have experience on contracting projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the public, staff, and supply chain
- Ensure PPE is correctly worn in line with the company policy
- Stopping work if unsafe and addressing any safety concerns
- Supervise day to day delivery of construction projects
- Supervision of sub-contractors and monitoring of contractor attendance
- Ensure that plans are followed such that material, resources, and supply chain can be delivered to meet the project plan
- Ensure all materials delivered to the site meet production needs
- Be fully aware of all potential opportunities and risks
- Communicate any project issues and/or risks to site team
- Attend daily meetings
- Send emails to relevant contractors
- Ensure properties are locked and site is secure at end of shift
- Quality checks after each trade has completed works
- Snagging of plots
Required Skills & Experience
- CSCS card
- Valid SMSTS Certificate
- Experience working on new build projects
- Experience in the management of health and safety
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate (desirable)
- NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar (desirable)
- Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate (desirable)
- Valid LOLER Certificate (desirable)
