Assistant Structural Engineer

An Assistant Structural Engineer is required to join our award winning Building Structures Team in Liverpool.
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce design calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, schedules and specifications
  • Be responsible for producing and checking calculations, reports, drawings, design models, schedules and specifications within a quality assurance environment
  • Required to visit building sites, carry out building surveys and inspections and to visit other Kier offices on occasion
  • Coordinate civil and structural design information with other technical disciplines
  • Committed to maintaining a programme of Continuing Professional Development
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • BSc, MSc, BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Graduate or Associate Member of IStructE or ICE
  • A commitment to Continuing Professional Development is essential
  • Experience designing building structures within a professional Structural Engineering office environment.
  • Experience using structural design software such as 'Masterseries', 'Revit Structures', 'TEDDS', 'CSC Building Designer', 'RAM' or 'ROBOT' would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber design to British Standards or European Standards.
  • Knowledge of the CDM Regulations and UK construction techniques is essential.
  • Will be aspiring to become a Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer
  • A full UK driving licence is required to enable all aspects of the role to be fulfilled.
