Key Responsibilities

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Assistant Team Leader within Kier Highways Team. Reporting to the Team Leader the main purpose of this role is to make sure works are adequately supervised to ensure that the contract delivers to full H&S requirements, budget, programme whilst also ensuring client satisfaction and CPF metrics are realised. Key responsibilities include holding accountability for HMO behaviours' when carrying out their operational duties including HR, HSEQ, Commercial and Administration. It also includes being accountable for the delivery of Planned & Reactive Third-Party repairs and Winter Maintenance with thorough supervision of internal employees and Sub-Contractors.

What do we need from you to be successful in this role?

  • Relevant experience of working within the highways industry including knowledge of construction, design, scheme delivery, network operations and asset management
  • Have a proactive and dynamic approach to an ever-changing environment
  • Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate experience or knowledge of team leadership, people management skills
  • Computer literate in regard to Microsoft software programmes, especially excel spreadsheets, outlook and word documents.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to adapt your approach/style to different situations & personnel
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety and traffic management requirements especially relating to highways operations
  • Driving licence
