Associate Director Fire Engineering job in London for a growing international Fire Consultancy based in London. You will be leading and growing a team of Fire Engineers, working across a variety of large-scale refurbishment and new build projects in London and The South East. To be considered ideally you will be MIFIREE and CEng / IEng or working towards with a track record of leading a Fire Engineering team. The role offers a salary range of between £80,000 - £100,000 + Profit Share + Healthcare + 25 days Holiday + Hybrid Working.
Our client is an independent firm of fire safety designers, engineers, consultants and technology solutions specialists with offices in London, Manchester, Northern Ireland and Dubai. They work on exciting projects across Aviation, Transport, Leisure, Healthcare, Commercial, High-rise, Hotels, Industrial, Retail and Transport. You will be joining a fast growing and dynamic team of professionals and will play an integral role in growing the London team and client base.
Taking lead of the commercial and technical performance of the team and reporting to Director level, you will play a key part in managing multiple projects, managing a team that delivers services across Fire Safety Design, Construction Implementation, façade assessments, handover services, digital advisory and integrated fire advisory and technology solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Actively manage an existing team and successfully sourcing, recruiting and onboarding new team members
- Develop client relationships and new business wins across London and South East
- Profit forecasting / financial / KPI reporting
- Identify work opportunities with internal teams, external clients, and design teams
- Develop and implement a business strategy and innovative strategic initiatives across the business
- Leverage the latest smart technology to advance fire safety practices and services
- Develop and maintain engaging client relationships and promote marketing and networking activities to potential clients
- Manage all commercial activities across your region
- Build and maintain a financial and resourcing budget for pipeline work and successful project delivery
- Provide technical and managerial leadership to the fire engineering team to deliver an exceptional consultancy service to clients
- Develop, implement and lead a robust delivery schedule for all fire safety project assignments
- Provide advisory support to clients
- Manage the fire safety scope on all projects with a full understanding of UK regulatory requirements and standard, keeping abreast of changing regulations
- Lead major projects and liaise with design team meetings and client representatives
- Create an environment that promotes and encourages change or innovation
- Act as client relationship manager for all projects
- Lead the professional and technical development of the fire engineering team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant Bachelors Degree, or equivalent professional qualification
- Ideally 10+ years experience in Fire Engineering
- Previous experience of leading a Fire Engineering team
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards
- Experience within a client role within a consultancy environment
- Excellent knowledge of UK fire safety codes, regulations, and standards
- Ability to manage the full life cycle of fire & life safety engineering projects
- Good report writing and presentation skills for client meetings
- Proficient in MS Office Suite is essential
- Experience in Fire Engineering digital services is preferred
- Experience with BIM, AutoCAD & Bluebeam preferred
- Experience using NFPA and IBC codes and standards preferred.
