Location: This is a UK wide role, where you will be working from home with a base at a local Kier office and travel as required by the role

Contract & hours: Permanent, Fulltime 37.5 hours wk

Salary: £40k - £70k + Car + Private Healthcare + benefits package

Kier Highways is looking to recruit a Bid Manager. The successful person will contribute to the planned and sustained business growth of the highways business through the production of client bespoke bid proposals.

Key Responsibilities

The Bid Manager will support the business development team in pre-tender activities. Work closely with all members of work winning team and subject matter experts to develop a high performing team that can deliver proposals to an excellent standard in a flexible, effective, and efficient way. Provide management of their appointed bids to deliver the optimum quality / price solution, keeping the team well informed, organised, and clear of their objectives in terms of the outputs required and their associated timelines. Analyse each bid, including feedback, to identify and share good practice with operational, bid and business development staff and suggest improvements to processes and team dynamics.

What do we need from you?

  • Experience of preconstruction within the highways or infrastructure sector
  • An understanding of UK central and local government procurement and work
  • The ability to identify, develop and incorporate business improvement processes in bid submissions
  • A collaborative approach to working, encompassing the effective engagement and management of the bid team including any joint venture partner and sub-consultant/contractor staff, both in person and through virtual teams
  • A result driven approach with the enthusiasm and confidence to win
