The Lead MEP Digital MEP Engineer is a core part of the Engineering Job Family and Digital Engineering Function. The DE function within Laing O'Rourke/Crown House provides the capability to fully engineer our projects before commencing work on site ensuring an optimised engineered solution, technical excellence, maximised use of offsite products, reduced waste, and enhanced delivery efficiency.

Examples of the duties you will that will be required as part of this role:

  • To Lead the delivery of MEP Digital Engineering duties on a large Project or number of smaller projects
  • Work closely with Principal Digital Engineers to deliver key agendas, innovative ideas, new technologies and delivery of project workloads
  • To Lead work winning teams with models, methods, and coordination
  • Deliver models for off-site manufactured installations
  • Lead Digital Engineering delivery and contribute towards continuous improvement of digital capabilities
  • To Build and establish collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners within and outside of Digital Engineering

Core skills required

  • Around 3 years' experience of heading up a Digital Engineering / BIM delivery on projects above £10m MEP.
  • An advanced knowledge of MEP services coordination principles and how they integrate with building fabric and structure and can provide solutions and advice to architectural and structural teams for services solutions
  • A good understanding of BIM level 2/ISO:19650 requirements and the current Digital Engineering standards.
  • A good knowledge of DfMA and can coordinate services in accordance with the DfMA strategy
  • Ability to add asset data to models using Revit and Excel
  • Ability to produce drawing to the standard defined by BSRIA BG6 as 4b
  • Ability to author and interrogate complex 3D models using Revit MEP and Navisworks with responsibility for the entirety of the project(s).

Desirable skills

  • Previous experience of using Revit Fabrication Parts
  • Professionally qualified / chartered by a recognised body
