Bricklayer Part time 2.5 days a week

Company

You will be working for a large social housing organisation giving you a great opportunity to enhance your career and CV

Job Role

You will be undertaking bricklaying and repairs and maintenance work, providing a high quality 'right first time' cost effective building service to the business and customers.

You will identify and undertake bricklaying and associated work as directed.

You will carry out multi trade activity (trade work not attached to your core hours) as required and within competency.

You will Liaise with other employees of the company as necessary in order to complete specific works.

You will receive, plan and complete job orders on time and to a high standard.

You will ensure that all relevant documentation is processed and systems are completed in a timely manner.

You will be required to conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimising damage to the fabric of the property.

You will carry out minor after-trade work and bolt on skills e.g. brickwork, plastering, tiling and joinery.

You will undertake essential reinstatement work as necessary in order to ensure premises are left in a secure, safe and weather tight condition.

You will need to ensure, where appropriate that vehicle stocks are accordingly maintained and accounted for.

You will take a pro-active approach and reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities at work, including occupants, visitors and members of the public

You must report on any hazards or unsafe practices to their team leader

You will undertake visual inspection of all tools, equipment and where appropriate vehicles ensuring they work correctly, reporting any defects. Additionally, comply with formal periodic testing checks for all equipment

Person

You must have NVQ level 2 or equivalent to be considered for this role.

You must have an asbestos awareness certificate and hold an appropriate CSCS card.

You must have the ability to undertake associated trade tasks.

You would preferably have Abrasive Wheel training and have PASMA qualification.

You will have an ability to read construction drawings and have experience of working within a Local Authority environment.

You will have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes.

You will have a willingness to be flexible with working hours, as you will need to work the Out of Hours rota.
