Protocol are working with a fantastic East Midlands based college to recruit experienced BSL Support Workers to cover absence. As one of the largest further education providers in the country, this college offers a huge range of vocational and academic courses, helping their students find routes into higher education or their dream career. This education powerhouse is looking to bolster its Learning Support Team Team by bringing in a level 3 BSL Communication Support Worker to support students for two days per week.
The students require support on a variety of courses mainly at level 2 and level 3 across two college sites.
Role responsibilities
Participate in signing support for the allocated learners
Adhere to college policies including Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity
Complete note taking for students as and when required
Support students with their written work
Providing support for two days per week
Motivating students to excel with their learning
Provide any pastoral support as and when required
The person & qualifications
Hold previous experience supporting students in a college setting
Experience of supporting level 2 and level 3 students
Have a minimum of a L3 in British Sign Language
Hold a good standard of English and Maths
Able to support students with written work
Must be enthusiastic and inspiring to learners
Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or within 12 months (or be willing to apply for one)
