Build Manager Job in Cambridge, East Anglia

Build Manager role based in Cambridge, surrounding areas in East Anglia and across to Milton Keynes, you will be joining the Housebuilding arm of one of the UK's largest property groups. The Build Manager role offers a salary of up to £79,000 + 20% Bonus + Car Allowance £6,700 + comprehensive benefits package.

Reporting to the Build Director the role will involve overseeing the full build process including SHE, build programmes and managing multiple site managers, to be considered you must come from a housebuilder background, worked at Build Manager level and possess relevant construction accreditation such as MCIOB and minimum HNC in Construction.

Role & Responsibilities

- To oversee, direct and manage production on site to the agreed programme, budget and quality standards

- Comply with all Group procedures and external regulations, in particular those relating to the SHE Upholding the Group's reputation with customers, suppliers and the wider community

- Attend design and pre-start meetings to gain full knowledge about all aspects of the sites including environmental issues, planning constraints and sales requirements

- Secure a detailed technical understanding of the site and design requirements and ensure all contractors are in possession of the correct drawings at all times

- Work with Site Managers to ensure sub-contractors and materials are procured in a timely manner

- Work with Site Managers to ensure sites are set up with appropriate materials storage facilities, including a waste compound

- Delivering the budgeted number of plots in line with the business quality standards and on time

- Construct the build programmes for your schemes and monitor against progress weekly

- Oversee and control activities on site to deliver Health, Safety & Environmental standards in line with legal requirements

- Carry out weekly hazard identification visits per scheme and record these on the SHE hub

- Maintain a tight control on quality throughout all stages of the build, ensuring sub-contractors are adhering to the quality standards set out in the Quality Manual

- Maintain high standards of site presentation and housekeeping at all times

- Attend and proactively contribute to Site Start meetings, Site Project meetings, Cost Review meetings and Safety Meetings

- Post project completion - ensure the site is cleared and the roads and services are adopted by the local authority

- Carry out weekly hazard identification visits per scheme and record these on the SHE hub.

Communication and team management

- Manage staff to ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company's needs

- Oversee activities of site teams to ensure they work in accordance with the policies and procedures.

- Disseminate information to site teams and follow up training activities to ensure complete understanding of roles and responsibilities and full compliance with PFP company policies and procedures

- Liaise with NHBC and Local Authorities as required

- Monitor performance of the site teams and follow company procedures to address under performance or non-delivery of company standards

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience as a Build Manager for a housebuilder is essential

- Minimum HNC qualification with a membership to an industry-recognised board, e.g. MCIOB.

- Supervisory experience in a construction or house building site environment

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and excellent computer literacy

- CSCS Card

- Full UK Driving Licence
