Building Regulations Principal designer Job in Reigate, Surrey

Building regulations Principal designer job is now available working for a successful architectural practice based in the town centre of Reigate. The role would involve working on a number of High-risk building projects, This role would the possibility of hybrid/remote working but would require the ability to visit site and attend meeting at the main office as needed.

The practice was recently formed in 2022, but the Directors possess over 40 years of experience in the industry working on commercial and residential projects with a wide range of public and private sector clients. The team already have formed a number of strong working relationships with clients and have plans for sustained growth over the next few years. Due to continued success and increased number of affected projects they are now seeking a Building Regulations Principal Designer to join the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead / work on architectural projects and across teams as Principal Designer Lead
  • Advise on specific health & safety matters
  • Review projects and designs and support with pre construction health & safety matters
  • Support the client to provide pre construction information
  • coordinate all health & safety matters during pre construction
  • Issue the health & safety document on completion
  • Work closely with the design team
  • Develop guidance materials and management tools
  • Work directly with clients
  • Carry out research on good practices
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities
  • Critically appraise design risk assessments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years experience as an Architect (ARB)
  • Experience of working as a Principal designer on high-risk buildings
  • Ability to use AutoCAD or Revit would be preferred
  • Registered as a Principal Designer would be highly beneficial
  • Driving licence
  • Own car.
