This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed Remediation department responsible for general maintenance and repair works including, plastering, decoration, timber floor repairs, ventilation repairs and cavity clearance nationally. The IAA is looking to recruit candidates with good DIY skills, preferably with qualifications and skills in home maintenance and repairs as part of their remediation team based in Staffordshire, with the expectation the successful candidate will be prepared to work in other locations, requiring regular overnight stays. About The IAA: The Insulation Assurance Authority (IAA) is the industry body providing our member installers with assurance framework under a single compliance platform and covers consumer protection, technical guidance, Certification, Competent Persons Scheme (CPS), installer surveillance, monitoring, training and carding. The IAA framework gives the confidence that installations and/or remediation is carried out to the highest standards and is subject to a level of rigor and surveillance which helps ensure it is done 'Right first time'. Role Purpose: Building Repair Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the removal and safe disposal of cavity waste materials, along with general building/remediation skills such as: - Cavity clearance - Bricklaying - Plastering - Decoration - Carpentry skills Key Accountabilities: - To carry out routine cavity clearance works and remediation with customer satisfaction in mind. Clear and concise work details, procedures discussed and agreed prior to commencement - Communicate with the homeowner throughout the process - Communicate with the Remediation Supervisor and Head of Technical Development to confirm works - Adhere to good health and safety practice - Provide a summary of works in progress - Work as part of The IAA team to develop a high quality and efficient service Administration: - Carry out planning with the Supervisor, where necessary, and maintain an effective schedule of planned works - Comply with The IAAs Best Practice Guides - Complete the scope of remediation against the customer journey as tasked and document remediation works Improvements and Change: - Follow all procedures and processes relevant to own role. Identify when changes and updates are applicable, raising these promptly with line manager - When required, lead and take responsibility for projects and making change happen, overcome barriers and ensure objectives are achieved - Develop and write work instructions and procedure when required, monitoring work and proposing improvement measures where appropriate Communication/Relationships: - Communicate and work closely with managers and colleagues, building a team which supports each other’s and the organisations goals - Act as mentor and trainer to colleagues when required and make suggestions to develop products and customer service - Keep up to date with new development and changes in the company - Support company goals and business objectives Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Desired): General building skills: - Bricklayer/plasterer/carpentry/decoration Excellent communications and presentation skills: - Possess good interpersonal skills - Have good attention to detail - Demonstrate reasonable IT skills - Possess the ability to work unsupervised - Familiarity with health & safety requirements - Clean driving license
