Building Services Assistant (hard services) (£19,000 p.a + retainer when covering outside of hours)

Job Role
To play an important role in hard facilities management (HFM), ensuring compliance through good working practise. The role is fast paced and involves planned and reactive maintenance; you will assist with engineering activity's planned and reactive maintenance and support specialist sub contractors.
Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To ensure the provision of safe accommodation for the occupiers
- To be a member of the team providing direct service
- To be compliant with all applicable laws, codes of practise and statutory requirements
- To support the planned preventative maintenance programme (PPM) and lifestyle replacement cycle where applicable
- To report and resolve where possible maintenance defects within the required timeframe
- To ensure all site safety protocols are adhered to and followed correctly
- To assist with monthly health and safety inspections of the building
- Record and monitor consumption in respect of each utility
- Carry out fire drill tests
- To ensure grounds, external traffic routes and car parking areas are free of debris and in working order
- To ensure all rainwater goods i.e. guttering are regularly inspected and made right
- Facilitate specialist engineers/ sub contractors in their duties, including mechanical and electrical maintenance, fire detection, equipment maintenance , water treatment and HV maintenance
- To identify ways in which the client can improve future performance
- To provide support and assistance to colleagues
- To have understanding of key business priorities
- To undertake any such additional duties that are commensurate with the level of this post
Person
To be able to consider applying for this role you must:
- Have the ability to carry out maintenance, decorating, joinery and/or plastering
- A knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering
- A sound awareness of health and safety issues
- Obtain a DBS clearance to work (once appointment is made)
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
It is desirable that the candidate has experience in facilities management, manual handling training and a first aid qualification, although these are not essential.
You will work alongside the regional director, general manager and other team employees
