Protocol are delighted to invite a skilled built environment work based learning tutor to take on a caseload of apprentices on both the BTEC level 3 and NVQ level 3 courses. Taking them on a successful and exciting journey to achieve their planned learning programme within the targeted time frame.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the built environment and have the drive and motivation to help learners to progress in their careers, increase their employability and support their personal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the built environment, experience of teaching, and have strong organisational and communication skills in order to inspire and educate learners.
Key responsibilities will include, developing a scheme of work for the curriculum and individual learning plans to ensure high quality, off the job delivery which develops the apprentices knowledge, skills and behaviours and prepares them for end point assessment. Effective collaboration between college staff, employers and the apprentices to ensure timely achievement of the apprenticeship programme which builds strong, positive relationships. Tracking and monitoring progress of the apprentice using the colleges preferred e-portfolio system and to deliver an outstanding service to apprentices and employers, the post holder will be expected to take part in quality monitoring and continuous quality improvement activities as outlined in the Quality policy.
This role is a full-time, permanent position being offered by a college based in Sheffield. The person & qualifications
A level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
An assessors qualification
A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
Experience assessing built environment up to level 3
GCSE English Language & Maths (Grade C or above) or other Level 2 equivalent
Working knowledge of Government Funded Training Programmes and associated administrative procedures
Understanding of Quality Assurance Standards
Knowledge and understanding of vocational specific curriculum requirements
Planning and delivery of workshop/classroom sessions
Ability to use current IT applications effectively, including Microsoft Office and Web based systems, including e-mail and e-portfolio system.
