Renewco are looking for a business development director to join our highly successful development team and grow the company's large scale development pipeline. Italy has been identified as a core market for Renewco where we are already looking at various opportunities, and you will lead the business growth in this important region. This is a new role within Renewco and will focus on opportunities for large scale PV development in Italy. The role will involve co-development and pipeline acquisition, identifying local development partners, negotiating co-development agreements and managing the development process.

Renewco is perfectly placed to exploit the exciting new opportunities in this market, and this new role will present the successful candidate with a unique chance to support and grow that business.

The role - key responsibilities:

  • Identifying Projects and Partnerships opportunities to grow pipeline
  • Prospecting large sites for ground mounted and agri. PV projects
  • Managing development process for secured projects
  • Research grid status and availability and liaise with E-Distribuzione and TERNA
  • Negotiating land agreements
  • Negotiating sub-contractor roles responsibilities and contracts
  • Negotiating key development project contracts
  • Identifying, negotiating and managing co-development agreements
  • Analysing and reviewing commercial viability based on projects' technical design and costing
  • Market research and developing an in-depth knowledge of local market legislation, regulations etc
  • Managing local development partners
  • Financial analysis of opportunities

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience gained throughout the PV project development process from greenfield all the way through to RtB
  • A thorough understanding of the development process is required including land prospecting and grid availability research
  • A strong network and successful track record in Italian project development and origination of projects
  • Previous involvement in a number of large scale solar projects from greenfield through permitting, financial close and into operation
  • A broad understanding of all parts of the Renewable Industry
  • Experience in business development, pipeline building and a track record when it comes to delivery and contractual negotiation and closing are vital for this role

About Renewco Power

Renewco Power is a newly formed renewable power business, with plans to become a leading European and U.S. clean energy platform. Renewco will focus on developing utility-scale solar, wind and storage assets across Europe and U.S, with the aim of maximising the potential in clean energy projects. The company is targeting the development of over 4GW of renewable assets within five years.

Renewco's founders are a highly experienced and entrepreneurial group who have over 100 years of combined renewables development and investment experience, having successfully developed more than 10GW+ of renewables in over 50 countries, raising more than £2 billion to finance these assets in the process.

Renewco Power was launched with a £24 million (€28 million) investment from Corran Capital who raised cornerstone funding from FT-SE 100 utility, SSE plc. A further £24m was raised to support the acquisition and development of a 1-3GW pipeline of solar projects in the US. SSE's financial support will enable Renewco to accelerate the implementation of the team's high growth strategy. Renewco will be based in Scotland, with hubs in London and a selection of European countries.
