The Business Development Manager will be Specialist in Supplying tower crane, mobile crane, crawler crane and hoist solutions to Laing O'Rourke group and external customers.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain existing relationships to ensure advance knowledge of upcoming projects i.e. future pipeline
- Maintain position as the country's most respected provider of lifting solutions as market improves and fleet size in targeted areas of growth increases.
- Grow client base through establishing high level contacts with the sector.
- Ensure that the customer receives a professional service.
- Ensure that quotations are submitted in a timely manner and customers receive excellent support during the tender and quotation processes.
- Data collation and chairing Work Winning forum/meetings.
- Ensure accurate business planning and asset planning
- Site visits to customers as part of business development, work winning,
- resolving commercial / contractual matters to avoid the need for escalation
- Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness to aid the commercial teams.
Skills Required
- Produce and manage business plans for new or existing business streams as required, including analysis of factors such as competition and demand;
- Prepare reports and supplementary information (e.g. KPIs) to facilitate management and monitoring team efficiency.
- Experience working in a team within a time pressure environment
- Strong drive towards achieving goals
- Able to listen to gain an intuitive understanding of Clients' business objectives
- Ability to pursue new pipeline opportunities
- Demonstrable skills in negotiation and selling
- Strong professional presence, both articulate and numerate
- Determined mindset to deliver on business plan
- Well organised and having effective time management to respond to Clients
- Produce detailed capital expenditure proposals at the individual asset level including qualitative and quantitative (DCF, IRR, NPV) analysis as required by the Lifting Solutions team.
- Advanced use of MS Excel;
- Intermediate use of MS Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI (including M and DAX), Power Automate;
