Business Development Manager Professional self-Motivated individual with the ability to obtain core new business opportunities, in the £5 - £50m value range across South London Boroughs, working for two divisions of Kier Construction.

The BDM should gain detailed knowledge of the Group and its various business streams, and liaise regularly with the other Kier Southern Business units and wider group sister companies on cross selling opportunities general market intelligence framework opportunities and out of region project leads.

The BDM will:
  • Identify and follow up new business opportunities that align to the agreed market sectors and objectives of the business, by maintaining a wide network of client and consultant contacts and ensuring that these are properly recorded upon the group CRM system. The BDM will attend bi weekly preconstruction and pipeline update meetings via face to face or video conferencing and ensure that the department complies with all standing orders and QA requirements project enquiry sheets, win plans etc.
  • Produce monthly reports for local Business reviews and monthly directors board Reports
  • Assist with the preparation of the local 5 year business plan
  • Analyse daily OJEU notifications and weekly planning leads from Barbour ABI and express interest and manage and assist with the preparation of the appropriate areas of PQQs, mini competitions tender submissions and general presentations together with support for the preconstruction teams in preparation for pre and post tender interviews
  • Assist with the production of local marketing literature and material data sheets, CVs etc. and ensure that these are uploaded to the central marketing hub.
  • Ensure that our sites and offices comply with current group brand guidelines
  • Organise and attend corporate events and functions.
  • Management of the Business Development and Preconstruction coordinator in relation to Publicity, Completion photography, CCS, Customer satisfaction, and CSR initiatives etc.
  • Attend relevant conferences and exhibitions
  • Attend ad hoc Local, regional UK construction Business Development team meetings
  • Liaise with Group marketing regarding social media output and be responsible for the production of local internal newsletters and other communications.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Recognised sales and marketing qualification and / or proven track record in similar discipline
  • Proven track record in delivering sales across a diverse client base
  • Proven experience in business development activities
  • Exceptional relationship management and networking abilities coupled with a genuine passion for the sector - Maintenance, Facilities, Insurance, Property and Environmental
  • Natural gravitas to engage with and influence senior executives both internally and externally
  • Performance driven - energy, drive and determination
  • Personal and professional demeanour and credibility, which commands confidence of external partners, key stakeholders, members, clients, senior managers and employees
  • Strong communication skills in all forms
