Title: Business Improvement Manager

Location: Falkirk, Scotland

Kier Utilities & Waterway is looking to recruit an Business Improvement Manager to report to The Head of Business Improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading performance improvement projects (both revenue enhancing and cost reducing) across the full range of activities by analysing business systems, processes and requirements for clients and operations whilst ensuring excellent relationship management both internally and externally to achieve optimum solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • planning, co-ordinating, and monitoring business improvement activity
  • Responsible for the monitoring of all business areas key performance against failing processes
  • participate in, or lead on business improvement projects
  • analysing business performance, presenting alternatives, making recommendations and providing assistance to resolve business issues and promote quality management.
  • To support the business operations through process optimisation and the application of new improved solutions.
  • Manage Kier and External Customer expectations while managing the definition and delivery of effective new/improved solutions in conjunction with all Kier terms. Lead a strategic improvement in management across the region to support our customers
  • Root cause analysis on key performance issues
  • Lead, motivate and support project teams of people from diverse backgrounds with varied experience (Kier staff, consultants and client teams).
  • Apply analytical tools to varied data to identify improvement opportunities in projects.
  • Own the design of end to end improvement opportunities, identifying mitigating associated risks.
  • Identify end benefits and enabling activities, embedding key metrics to enable benefit delivery to be realised.
  • Develop realistic implementation plans that deliver on time through integrated work stream

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A good first degree, supported by relevant higher qualifications from a well - respected institution
  • Prior management consulting and business transformation experience and strong core consulting skills
  • Change management and excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels for buy in and engagement
  • Strong organisational and facilitation skills
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve
  • Ability to interpret complex technical information to make practical business judgement
  • Ability to build strong relations internally and externally
