Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer
Contract: 12 Months Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid/Fareham
Opportunity for a Business Analyst/Developer with a Global Organisation working on Sales related data and logistics. To be successful in this role you will need experience with Cognos and strong SQL skills. Experience with noetic would be ideal.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the business to translate analytic requirements into designs for reporting
- Document requirements for reporting. Review requirements for reporting, data sets, source data, and analytic capabilities to existing solutions and performs analysis, design, development, testing, installation and training for BI solutions.
- Perform data analysis to understand reporting business rules
- Provides technical advice and support to end users.
- Undertake fact finding and data analysis of data integrity problems and provide resolutions.
- Build reporting solutions in IBM Cognos v10 and v11
- Develops effective reporting to meet business requirements
- Ensure all reporting and analytic solutions and services meet quality, organizational standards and end user requirements.
- Perform training to end users on reporting solutions
- Aid in preparation of time and cost estimates for reporting solutions
- Analyze and review BI developer and vendor work output
- Performs reporting system administration functions specific to setup, configuration and maintenance.
Key skills required:
- Possesses a thorough understanding of and expertise in the delivery of:
- IBM Cognos Reporting and Analytics (v10 and v11)
- Data (logical & physical) Modeling tools and methodologies in data design
- Data Warehouse methodologies
- Relational and Dimensional Design concepts
- OLTP, OLAP and DSS implementations
- Oracle, SQL Server Databases, Indexes, Views, Etc.
- Complex SQL Development
Desirable skills:
- Noetic skills and experience would be highly desirable
