An established further education provider in Central Bath is seeking a Construction and the Built Environment/Civil Engineering Lecturer/Assessor on a Permanent, Full time basis (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year or part-time available 22.5 hours per week).

From entry level to degree programmes, this organisation is an inclusive education and training community, providing learning for people with a wide range of abilities from a far reaching area. Due to growth in their provision, they are looking for a new Construction and the Built Environment/Civil Engineering Lecturer/Assessor to join the team. The successful candidate will work to support, teach and assess apprentices, part time and full time learners in the Construction and the Built Environment/Civil Engineering field. They are looking for a motivated and organised, team player, passionate about developing and supporting opportunities for apprentices.

Role responsibilities
Responsible for planning and delivering innovative programmes of learning, enabling learners to develop their knowledge and practical skills so that they can demonstrate their competence to industry standards
Conduct initial assessments and training needs analyses to identify the learning styles of learners and apprentices within an area of Occupational Competence
Support fellow assessors and conduct verifications
Be responsible for the delivery of qualifications and apprenticeships within a specific sector area to a caseload of learners and of also supporting fellow assessors and verification of work
To carry out regular learner reviews, in required format, to maintain ESFA compliance and to ensure that learners complete their learning programme on or before the planned funding end date.
Maintain regular contact with learners and employers within your area.
Use OneFile electronic portfolio with all candidates.

The person & qualifications
A relevant assessing qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA)
Verifier qualification (V1, D34)
Literacy and numeracy to a level 2 or a willingness to work towards
IQA experience
Proficient in delivering Functional Skills up to level 2
Experience of assessing and/or teaching in the area of work based learning
Comprehensive knowledge of the subject area
The ability to deliver detailed and timely feedback following assessment of learning
(Desirable) A teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)
