Kier work as part of a framework for Western Power Distribution to ensure its customers have power in their homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. We are an essential member of the team mainly working on reactive and planned maintenance in Exeter, Bristol and down to Cornwall.

We employ a large number of teams across the region, whose role it is to either respond to emergencies to dig down in the street or on private property to give our client access to repair their asset, or to lay new mains cables as part of their ongoing planned maintenance programme. Our responsibility begins with planning the works and finishes with us clearing site having put it back to the same or better condition than when we arrived, making sure that customers are happy and informed throughout every stage of the works.

About the role

As Cable Recorder, you will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking tasks, ensuring that each depot's internal KPI data is complete by the second working day of the following month. You will also be assisting in and improving new and existing systems to aid the effective transfer of data to the client as well as being involved in giving advice on technical issues and about the recording of cables being laid.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in the role you will hold a CSCS card, a good understanding of the importance of Health and safety, along with good IT skills. You will also need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence, knowledge of the Microsoft products and able to organise workloads and work on a flexible basis.
