CAD Designer Cambridgeshire £25-35,000 depending on experience Full time, permanent Are you a CAD Designer with experience in the leisure and/or housing industry?
Do you have a strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D Software? Do you want to work at the forefront of modern construction? Would you like to use your initiative and problem-solving skills, taking a design from concept phase to a tangible reality? CAD Designer required due to growth by an innovative business who have developed a building system with high end design values. This existing manufacturing business employs highly skilled individuals across construction, development and manufacturing backgrounds. Their team is growing and they want to hear from you. The demand for new build homes in the UK is stronger than ever with the market being led to seek rapid and customised build solutions. Offsite constructed modular housing is fast becoming the solution of choice and this employer is benefitting from its early adoption of this building technique. They are committed to delivering quality homes and taking this through to the customer experience. This role will be your chance to develop in a highly specialised area of construction which is fast becoming a mainstream option. This role has a number of facets: Preparing drawings from design to completion Taking client information and ensuring this is interpreted for "buildability" - you will need to employ your problem-solving abilities to take a design from concept stage, potentially looking at a selection of materials to be used, access and installation issues and more Generating Bills of Material and other schedules required for build and manufacture Liaising with colleagues which may involve resolving technical issues Are you:
  • Able to demonstrate spacial awareness as well as an understanding of how the building components fit together to provide true "buildability"
  • A true "problem-solver"
  • Highly accurate whilst managing a busy workload
  • Excellent communicator who can liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • An effective "multi-tasker"
  • Flexible regarding hours and committed to playing your part in the team
  • Familiar with Building Regulations
  • Experienced in preparing drawings in AutoCAD 2D and 3D in projects for the built environment
  • Qualified in English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Highly IT literate
If you are also experienced in modular buildings, leisure / park homes, offsite construction / MMC this would be of particular interest.
