Job Title: CAD Engineer

Location: Mixture of both home and office working. Exeter office based

Business Area: Kier Utilities - South West Water

Contract: Permanent Full time

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services and we are looking for a CAD Engineer to join our Utilities team on our framework with South West Water. As CAD Engineer, you will be part of the NSA team, specifically on clean water related projects. You will be providing design support through the design process as well as the production of design drawings based on Developer's layout provided for new water mains and diversion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage CAD drawings, liaise with the designer, planners and estimating team, and ensure full coordination with client, operational and commercial staff both Kier and SWW to ensure accurate drawings are produced to Client standards
  • Keep drawing templates up to date with the correct information and collect up to date and correct utility information for the area surrounding the developer's site, as well as collecting correct OS background and network drawings from the client's servers
  • You will provide support across the team, but Mainslaying design and AutoCAD will be your focus, whether this is for new designs, interim updates, or final record drawings when the works are completed on site.
What do we need from you?

  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good standard of IT skills and be proficient in the use of AutoCAD
  • Be committed to enrol on an S/NVQ Level 3 in Network Mains Design / CABWI Level 3 - Diploma Designing Water Networks, as recognised under the Water Industry Regulation Scheme (WIRS). Company funded.
