The Opportunity

Due to continued growth this established, market-leading lift engineering company with offices based in London are now looking for CAD Technician or graduate looking for an opportunity (Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar) to work in the Technical Engineering team as a CAD Technician to develop skills and become a competent Design Engineer for Lifts and Escalators.

The Person

  • Ideally we are looking for candidates with Lift or Escalator technical knowledge with experience working for a competitor in the lift and escalator industry.
  • Do you have experience using CAD Design or Solid-works? CAD software is 2D and 3D computer-aided design software often used by architects, mechanics, inventors, engineers and designers. If you are a designer, drafter, architect or engineer, you have probably used 2D or 3D CAD programs such as AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT software.
  • You will be considered for the role if you demonstrate a sound technical understanding of lifting components through qualifications achieved and CAD experience.
The Role

  • Provide technical support to the sales team to develop and successfully implement products and service solutions that meet customer's needs.
  • Assist with the engineering, design and technical coordination of lift and escalator contracts from conception to completion.
  • He/ she assist the order handling process:
  • Learn how to Prospect/ Tender/ Defining Specification details Traffic Calculations,Dimensions,
  • CAD / CAM design software, lay-out drawings
  • Understand the Estimation of installation and delivery times and costs.
  • He/ she answers incoming customer technical enquiries
  • Fully supports the Sales Executive with technical issues.
  • Supporting other engineers and draughtsman.
  • Monitoring design progress and project program.
  • Submitting design documentation to Clients professional design teams.
  • Troubleshooting and design development with company factories and third
  • party suppliers.
  • Continual development of lifts and escalators.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant company policies.
