CAMPAIGN MANAGER - role at Material Focus, the organisation behind the UK-wide Recycle Your Electricals campaign
Hello. We're a mission driven not-for-pro?t start-up launched in April 2020 and are now looking for a Campaign Manager.
Unwanted electricals are the fastest growing waste stream in the world - and the UK. Reusing these useful items and recycling the precious resources they are made from will improve lives, save money and protect the environment.
The campaign has already achieved a lot. We've delivered the campaign into over 100 local authority areas across the country via our brand messenger HypnoCat, achieved media coverage in titles like Forbes and the BBC, and worked with a range of in?uencers and celebrities. We are ambitious to do more. We have spent the past 2 years testing messages, moments, channels and different ways of delivering our campaign message.
We're looking for someone who is an experienced Campaign Manager, who is a self-starter, and can drive a campaign from its inception to delivery across all channels - on and of?ine. You will have experience of delivering campaigns across all channels - owned, earned and paid channels. You'll have a personal interest in sustainability, with some experience as well.
Background
Managing electrical waste is one of the biggest challenges of our time - it is the fastest growing waste stream in the world - and in the UK. As technology evolves at such a fast pace, older electrical and electronic items are often made redundant. Any item with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled - and over 75% of the materials can be reused so that we don't have to mine for new ones.
About Material Focus
We are a busy mission-driven not-for-pro?t start-up, with lots of ideas and never enough time to execute them all. We are a core team of 8, working with a network of trusted freelancers and agencies to get the job done.
Our campaign
We launched the Recycle Your Electricals campaign to motivate and make it easier for people to reuse and repair their unwanted electricals. This is a growing issue that many people just don't think about - but when they do they want to know practical information about what to do with their unwanted electricals. We need to stop people in their tracks, and give them a reason to think about the issue, talk about it, and do the right thing. Our website has been designed as an inspiring knowledge hub with all the tools, links and resources people need to donate, repair and recycle their unwanted electricals.
