Protocol are pleased to a present a fantastic opportunity at a FE College based in Greater Manchester.
We are looking to recruit a full-time grounds co-ordinator to start as soon as possible for an ongoing basis. For the right candidate you have the potential to earn over time due to call outs and if you are right for the job you could be considered for the permanent post.
Role responsibilities
* To assist in promoting a safe, secure and pleasant working environment by undertaking key-holding, maintenance and porterage duties including liaison with staff, students, contractors and external visitors
* To secure the premises and its contents, including the operation of fire, intruder and other alarm systems, and to be a keyholder.
Check and sign off work of contractors, which has been completed.
* To set up areas for open evenings, exams, interviews, staff meetings, classroom delivery and training events.
* To carry out routine maintenance duties on plant and equipment and other fixtures as directed by the Head of Estates and Health & Safety or Senior Facilities Co-ordinators.
Respond promptly to requests for work and prioritise work schedules and complete tasks using the job logging system database within defined timescales.
The person & qualifications
* Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (or willingness to work towards) is essential.
* Minimum of 1-year Estates/Facilities/Care taker/ Industrial experience is essential
* Experience of working in an educational environment, possibly in a Estates/Facilities/site co-ordinator or similar role is desirable
* A Health & Safety qualification is desirable
* You must hold a driving Licence
* Must be prepared to undertake further training and instruction as required to discharge the duties safely and effectively e.g. First Aid, Health and Safety is essential
