Caretaker
Location: Mobile across Staffordshire - Covering Stoke & Staffordshire Fire Stations
Business Area: Facilities Management - Stoke & Staffs Fire and Rescue Authority
Contract: Permanent, part time (part of a job share) - 25 Hours per week, 3 days per week - 7am to 4.30pm - please indicate in your application what days you would be available to work
Salary: pro-rata £20,000 per annum + van + out of hours standby & callout
Kier Places are recruiting now for a Caretaker to join our team on our Stoke & Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Authority contract in order to maintain effective PFI Facilities Management service delivery to our client across the portfolio of sites in the Staffordshire area.
Key Responsibilities
In this important Caretaker role, your day to day activities will include carrying emergency cleaning as required, adjustments and maintenance, responsible for locking and unlocking of grounds, managing the site security and carrying out fire and safety precaution across multiple sites.
The role will include general building maintenance duties to ensure the site meets the required standard such as: low level lamp changing, minor joinery repairs, minor plumbing repairs, grounds maintenance such as litter picking/snow clearing/gritting, portering duties, and other tasks relative to the skill level of the role.
What do we need from you?
Ideally, you'll have previous experience within a Caretaker or Maintenance role with a strong emphasis on delivering effective customer service. You'll engage in a positive manner and able to conduct any heavy lifting involved in line with the manual safety handling training, and also be able to produce paperwork and information to be used for reporting.
Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
