Job Title: Social Housing Carpenter - Kitchens and Bathrooms
Location: Wolverhampton, United Kingdom
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our dedicated team responsible for kitchen and bathroom installations in social housing properties in Wolverhampton. As a Social Housing Carpenter, you will play a vital role in enhancing the living conditions of residents by carrying out high-quality carpentry work, specifically focusing on kitchen and bathroom refurbishments within council-owned properties.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including cabinets, countertops, sinks, faucets, toilets, showers, and baths.
- Measure and accurately cut materials, such as wood, laminate, and other carpentry components, to ensure proper fit and alignment during installations.
- Assemble and install flat-pack and custom-made cabinets, ensuring a professional finish and attention to detail.
- Assess the structural integrity of existing kitchen and bathroom units, making recommendations for repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as plumbers and electricians, to coordinate and complete comprehensive kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
- Identify and address any underlying issues, such as plumbing or electrical concerns, that may impact the successful installation or functionality of kitchen and bathroom fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, following safe work practices and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and job completion details.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their concerns and keeping them informed about the progress of installations or repairs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in carpentry techniques to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Asbestos Awareness
- CSCS Card
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, specializing in kitchen and bathroom installations, preferably within the social housing or property maintenance sector.
- Proficient in carpentry techniques and practices, with a strong focus on kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications related to kitchen and bathroom installations.
- Skilled in using a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to carpentry installations.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with residents and collaborate with colleagues.
- Valid driving license preferred.
