Contract: Permanent, full time - 37 hours, Monday to Friday

Kier Places & Heart of Wales Property Services are recruiting now for a Carpenter to join our Mid-Powys Domestic Team, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Housing Maintenance repair & servicing solution, through providing planned & reactive maintenance with a Carpentry & Joinery bias in social housing residential properties managed by the council.
Key Responsibilities
In this important role and rewarding role as a Carpenter, you will be carrying out joinery & repair works to a high level "right first time" basis, in a cost-effective manner. Some minor after-trade work would be required e.g. brickwork, plastering, painting & decorating, basic plumbing.
What do we need from you?
The ideal Carpenter will have carpentry / joinery qualifications & trade background with experience in the housing maintenance and social housing sector, including Occupied & Void properties.
You'll be able to read construction drawings, be experienced in 1st and 2nd fix carpentry/joinery, ideally holding a CSCS card, and be asbestos awareness trained. As this is a multi-skilled role, you should be able to carry out basic plumbing, plastering, and painting & decorating.
Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the county to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
*Please note the HOWPS joint venture between Kier and Powys County Council is coming to an end in June 2022 and the services will transfer to Powys County Council effective from July 2022. All employees will transfer to Powys County Council under TUPE legislation. We are responsible for the repairs and maintenance work to council homes and public buildings across Powys.
