City College Plymouth currently have exciting opportunity to join as a Full-time, permanent Carpentry Lecturer/Assessor with a competitive salary on offer up to £33,849 per annum.

In addition to your salary, you can expect an annual leave entitlement of 50 days pro rata for this role, plus Bank Holidays and additional College closure days over the festive period. Role Responsibilities
* Deliver academic curricula and practical training programmes to students taking account of other inputs from the teaching team, using appropriate teaching techniques to ensure high standards and low student turnover, and to act as personal tutor to students.
* Prepare teaching materials, practical exercises, and assessments in line with the syllabus and in conjunction with others across Teaching & Assessment for Apprenticeships and Study Programmes
* To act as the internal verifier / moderator of the area and undertake internal verification in line with Awarding Body and College requirements as appropriate
* Carry out assessment of candidates across the range on NVQ programmes
* Maintain student welfare and discipline, providing guidance and counselling when required, including liaison with parents and other sponsors.
* Set and mark programme work, examinations, and assessments.
* Develop external contacts to maintain knowledge of industry practice, providing technical advice if appropriate

Person Specification
* Must have a minimum level 2 NVQ or equivalent plumbing qualification
* Previous experience delivering training and assessment to apprentices and Study Programme Learners from Level 1 to Level 3 in Carpentry
* Holding a level 3 NVQ in Carpentry or equivalent would be highly advantageous
* A teaching qualification or willing to work towards
* Previous experience in a learning environment and holding an Assessors qualification is desirable
* Be able to demonstrate having undertaken continuous professional development
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team
* A commitment to improvement and raising levels of student success
