We are working with a fantastic college in Peterborough who are looking for a permanent, full time Carpentry trainer for an immediate start!

Based in a practical realistic learning environment, the successful candidate will support the provision of a high quality learner experience and learner achievement through provision of training, assessing and assistance relevant to the programme area lecturers and learners. Assessing, monitoring and tracking learner progress and undertaking training and up-skilling as required. The college are looking to interview immediately and are offering a salary of between £19,927 rising to £22,899 with experience in the role. Market Allowance of £3,000 per annum will be payable in addition for holding a Level 3 qualification in Construction

Role responsibilities
To train, deliver, demonstrate, monitor and track learner progress and achievement in practical situations prior to assessment.
To demonstrate using specialist equipment, materials and technical processes complying with industry standards.
To log and record learner assessments on MarkBook/ProMonitor in line with required policies and procedures within agreed deadlines.
Comply with awarding body and QA standards
To accompany learners and lecturers on external visits.
To assist with cross college events such as open day events, competitions, festivals, service provision as needed and could include evenings and weekends.
To carry out health and safety risk assessments and take appropriate practical steps to ensure health and safety of self and others in conjunction with Director of Estates and Health and Safety and the Health and Safety Officer
To monitor the safety of learners in a practical learning environment.
The person & qualifications
Minimum Level 3 subject specialism qualification level or equivalent relevant experience
Recent and relevant experience of coordinating learning in an industrial or commercial sector
Teaching qualification
Ideally a DBS on the update service or applied for
