On March 30–31, 2016, ANSI Certificate Accreditation Program will host a live online workshop that will introduce requirements of ASTM International’s American National Standard ASTM E2659-09, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. Sessions will cover terminology; significance and use of standard to the education and training community, individuals, and consumers; requirements for certificate issuers; and certificate program and certificate issuance and use.

Approved by ASTM International’s Committee on General Aviation Aircraft (F44), 2 new standards cover handling characteristics and icing protection. Specification for Handling Characteristics of Aeroplanes (F3173/F3173M) establishes airworthiness design standards for general handling characteristics in flight, on ground, and on water, while Specification for Icing Protection for Small Airplanes (F3120/F3120M) gives manufacturers defined path to meet regulatory requirements.

International Code Council requests stakeholder feedback on proposed revision by the Industry Advisory Committee to ICC’s Council Policy 28 Code Development. All input on proposed draft must be received by March 30, 2016. ICC Board is considering proposed revision, which reads in part: 3.6.3.2 The standard shall be developed and maintained through consensus process such as ASTM or ANSI; and 3.6.3.2.1 Updated standards to be referenced in the 2021 Edition and following Editions of the I-Codes.
