ANSI and German Institute for Standardization (DIN) will co-host “Innovation in the Medical Device Sector.” This standards panel event, scheduled for April 12, 2016 in Washington, D.C. from 9 am to 5 pm, will provide discussions intended to unite public- and private-sector representatives in USA and Germany to provide viewpoints on developments in electronic medical records (EMRs) as well as implications for standardization and public policy. Registration is open through March 21.

Scientists at NREL collaborated with researchers at Washington State University and University of Tennessee to improve max voltage available from cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar cell. Their research appears in Nature Energy journal article, “CdTe solar cells with open-circuit voltage breaking the 1 V barrier.” This research helps provide path for solar energy being able to compete directly with electricity generated by conventional energy sources.
