Depot Supervisor - Full time, Permanent Position
Blyth Cement Depot - A competitive remuneration package will be offered including pension and life assurance.
Breedon are currently seeking a Depot Supervisor based at our Blyth Cement Depot in Northumberland. You will be responsible for the daily supervision and safe operation of the depot which includes (but is not limited to):
- The day to day safe running of the cement and depot
- The health and safety of all employees and visitors to site
- Proactive communication of any potential near misses or hazards within the work area to your line manager and Health & Safety Manager
- Supervision of Depot Operatives
- Supervision of all drivers whilst on site
- Day to day maintenance of site equipment
- Carry out daily checks of all safety critical equipment and environmental permit requirements in line with company standards
- Supervision of all maintenance contractors
- Discharging of cement supply vessels
- Supervision and reporting of cement stocks
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Supervisory experience with the ability to demonstrate previous experience of people management
- Ideally have an engineering background, with a general mechanical / electrical understanding of fixed plant machinery, along with the ability to identify faults and report accordingly
- Front end loader operator licence
- You will have an energetic "hands on" approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level
- Flexibility to be able to work outside of core working hours as and when required
This position is ideal for a highly motivated person with experience of depot operations.
