Capital Talent Box are the onsite agency of choice at West London College. Launched in summer 2020 to serve the college's recruitment needs, its key aim is to provide quality agency associates to be part of the college's continuing success.
We are currently recruiting for qualified Childcare Assessor who can cover Teaching Assistant Standard (was the Supported Teaching & Learning Qualification) and Early Years Education and Practice Level 2&3.
Responsibilities:
Assessment; complete regular planned assessments at both the employer premises and college while ensuring high integrity of the training and assessment process for Apprenticeship learners. Guide and empower learners to produce work-based evidence for their portfolios. To be responsible for and ensure that assessment forms are completed properly (clearly and accurately and SMART), and recorded on all learner and apprentice's files. To ensure timely completion of framework and standards. Communicate changes and interventions with the appropriate team members to ensure all support is in place for the learners. Maintain the ILP and electronic portfolios.
Tutoring and mentoring; ensure teaching and assessment methods and learning checks are adapted to meet the needs of all learners. Arrange and conduct regular meeting with other lecturing staff who are teaching any other elements of the Apprenticeship framework to your assigned learners.
Monitoring progress; maintain up-to-date tracking sheets detailing progress made for each Apprentice and each element of the Apprenticeship framework/standards. To be responsible for reviewing and agreeing development actions with learners and employers at regular progress review meetings in line with contractual obligations and learners needs.
System input; ensures documentation and systems are completed accurately in line with contractual and Evolve procedures including electronic portfolios and attendance records for college and at the employer site.
Adheres to quality assurance standards; Attend team and standardisation meetings, liaises with the Internal Verifier and participates in standardisation and verification (EQA) visits, and keep CPD updated along with attend any training sessions.
The person & qualifications
- The ability to convey information to a range of diverse audiences
- Ability to assess Apprenticeship programmes
- Ability to provide pastoral support
- Appropriate knowledge of Childcare and Early Years Education and Practice L2&3
- Hold an Assessors qualification
- Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent)
