Location: Commutable within /up to an hour of Worcester Business area: Utilities - Western Power Distribution Introduction: Kier work as part of a framework for Western Power Distribution to ensure its customers have power in their homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. We are an essential member of the team mainly working on reactive and planned maintenance. We employ a large number of teams across the region, whose role it is to either respond to emergencies to dig down in the street or on private property to give our client access to repair their asset, or to lay new mains cables as part of their ongoing planned maintenance programme. Our responsibility begins with planning the works and finishes with us clearing site having put it back to the same or better condition than when we arrived, making sure that customers are happy and informed throughout every stage of the works. Key responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for personal and site safety.
  • Carry out general construction work as instructed by the Team Leader and/or FLM.
  • Operate and maintain at least two pieces of plant, drive vans, pickup trucks.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, business policy & procedure and local instruction & guidance.
  • Ensure full and correct use of vehicles, plant and materials, keeping wastage to a minimum.
  • Any ad-hoc duties that may occur as instructed by the management team or team leader / ganger.
    • Skills and experience required:
  • UK driving licence
  • First Aid certificate
  • Manual Handling trained
  • Construction experience
  • NRSWA Operative
