About the Role

Kier Telecoms are looking to recruit a Civils Operative, who will be working as part of a two-person team to undertake excavation, backfill, and reinstatement, in accordance with Kier & our Clients Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

In this exciting role you will be required to ensure that all work is completed to a High Standard and within a timely and professional manner, while maintaining professional relationships with both internal and external customers at all times, while working in the highway and customer property including excavation, backfill, hot/cold-lay reinstatement, duct laying along with rod rope and cabling activities, and traffic management set-up.

This role will require you to complete under 3 Meters Civils Works repairing and replacing ducting, installing new entry points and completing the cable pull, installing cable through residential gardens and completing the connections at the house and street cabinet.

You will be responsible for ensuring the site is set up correctly using Sign Lighting and Guarding before any works take place and completing a risk assessment via the app and any concerns are raised to your manager as safety in the number priority for our Operatives and members of the Public.

You will be required to take a set of photographs before during and after to ensure we have followed the correct works as per the NFSG documents and that our works don't generate a council defect.


What we need from you?

A proactive, strong communicator with demonstrable experience in this industry. You will have a strong track record in successful risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices. Working on your own initiative and delivering against key objectives is a key aspect of the role. This role requires strong customer relationship skills. You must be competent in the use of Civils equipment and you must hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence.
