Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for one of London's big infrastructure projects and require an engineer to work in the utilities team. We are looking for engineers that want to be part of a forward-thinking company who operate in a self-delivery capacity. You will have the opportunity to run your own work packages using in-house resource and the latest technology.

Scope of Work: Utilities Civil Engineering
Duties:
- Supporting the development of designs, planning and costing
- Drafting scopes under NRSWA for the mitigation, protection and/ or diversion of 3rd party utility services which include coordination of utility provider subcontractors and agreeing the works.
- Coordination of site and utility construction works, in regard to logistic and programme planning.
- Provide accurate dimensional control, and check that established by others, to enable the works to be constructed to the required tolerances as defined by the Contract / design documents. Carry out surveys for design, as-built and payment purposes.
- Assist site foremen and managers in supervising site operatives and sub-contractors ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design drawings, specifications and standards as defined by the contract documents.
- Produce method statements and risk assessments to be approved by supervising engineers / managers and ensure that site operations take place in accordance with documents which detail safe systems of work, e.g. method statements, task sheets and procedures.
Knowledge and Skillset:
- Temporary works planning and supervision
- Utilities diversions and new build
- Knowledge of UK engineering standards and contract types
- Civil engineering knowledge in concrete, steel or piping
- Spatial Control
- Understanding of engineering designs
