Reporting into the Office Services Manager, the role will involve cleaning production, office, toilet, and welfare areas along with the people management & supervision of both day and evening cleaners. The role is essential in maintaining an acceptable level of cleanliness across our York Head Office site. Role Details Role based: York, YO32 Contract type: Permanent Annual leave: 25 plus bank holidays Role Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of cleaners to ensure an acceptable standard of cleaning is provided throughout the business
  • Train and develop staff
  • Resolve any concerns or issues raised by team members
  • Undertake a cleaning service in accordance with the work instructions provided
  • Issue and stock control of consumables and equipment
  • Report any faults with equipment, damage within office areas to the Office Services Manager
  • Manage the distribution of workload across the team daily, for holiday cover and sickness cover
  • Performance and absence management
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is kept in good order
  • Empty waste bins and transfer to disposal points / recycling points
  • Safe use of cleaning products (COSHH controlled)

  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience in a supervisory cleaning role
  • The ability to resolve conflict
  • The ability to produce workable solutions to a range of problems
  • An understanding of Health & Safety issues in relation to manual handling and COSHH
  • The aptitude to identify and organise resources needed to accomplish tasks
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to monitor and maintain quality and productivity
