Clerk of Works Job in Southampton / Remote Working
Clerk of Works jobs in Southampton, covering residential construction sites across Hampshire and part of West Sussex. You will be Joining an award-winning consultancy as part of their site inspection team. Our client is looking for ideally MICWCI, MCABE, MRICS or working towards. The role offers a salary of £40,000 - £52,000 + Mileage + progression opportunities.
The multidisciplinary practice is award-winning and specialises in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential. Offering a multitude of services in Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S. Made up of 6 offices and 350 staff, they are continuing to grow and offer excellent progression opportunities as well as financial support towards relevant industry qualifications and accreditations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Regular inspections of construction work to monitor progress and quality
- Verify compliance with contractual drawings, specifications, warranty standards and Employer's Requirements
- Identify discrepancies and prepare written reports with supporting photographs
- Close liaison with main contractors and site teams to review and advise on quality management
- Occasional need to visit manufacturers to review quality.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experienced in new build residential projects
- Previous experience working as Clerk of Works, NHBC inspector, Senior Site Manager or Building Surveyor
- A detailed knowledge of various forms of construction
- Experienced in producing site inspection reports
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- MICWCI, MCIOB, MRICS, MCABE or willingness to work towards
- UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
